Three solid surface wall tiers. One base line. No grout anywhere.

The wall surface determines how the bathroom looks. The base determines whether it is usable. Set out below is the difference between the tiers in plain terms, so you can arrive at the consultation knowing roughly which one your project calls for.

Walk-in shower with a white 3 by 8 subway tile pattern in solid surface, behind a chrome sliding door

Solid surface wall systems

Classic

The character of tile, with none of tile's maintenance.

Solid surface walls in a realistic 3 inch by 8 inch subway pattern and four other tile looks. The color runs through the full thickness of the panel, so the surface can be renewed instead of replaced.

Trimmable solid surface

Classic Plus

Engineered for rooms that were never square to begin with.

The same solid surface construction as Classic, with side walls trimmed to the opening you actually have and a range of stone and marble finishes.

Low and zero threshold

Barrier-Free Bases

The component that determines whether the shower is usable.

Solid surface bases in adjustable, low and zero threshold configurations. The zero-threshold base is what makes a true roll-in shower possible.

Which tier is right for your bathroom?

Most tub-to-shower conversions are Classic or Classic Plus. Most full remodels are Signature. Every accessible project uses a barrier-free base, whichever walls go on it.

Building for accessibility?

Start with the base, not the walls. A zero-threshold base is what makes a roll-in shower possible, and it is the configuration the VA names as an eligible HISA improvement. Any of the three wall tiers can go on top of it.

Samples

A screen is not a bathroom.

Finishes read completely differently under your own light, against your own flooring and fixtures. A design consultant brings the physical samples to you at no cost, holds them up in the actual room, and then leaves you to think it over.
